On the occasion of the Madrid Art Week, the Spanish capital will host a variety of activities that will transform the city into a neuralgic center of new artistic trends with international and national events throughout the week.
Madrid has become the art capital this weekend, with renowned fairs such as the emblematic ARCO Madrid Fair at IFEMA, which continues to be a crucial platform to showcase the most recent and outstanding international artists. In this 43rd edition, in the curated program, Carla Acevedo-Yates and Sara Hermann Morera will curate " La orilla, la marea, la corriente: Un Caribe Oceánico" setting the program's fair in the context of the sea.

Therefore, this edition will have a strong influence with Latin American art, as a form of deconstruction of colonialist identities. With a large number of galleries from South America, the edition will focus on the region's art as a form of criticism and cultural bridge between society. Art as a way of understanding the complex context of the South American regions.
Within the Art Week program there will be parallel fairs that will be hosted during this week, with a total of 4 fairs. Therefore Madrid will be transformed not only in the center of high art but also in the center of new and fresh scenes such as post graffiti, neo pop and others.
Alongside these main attractions, the new edition of Carabanchel Contemporáneo will take place, where several studios and creative spaces will open their doors to the public. This event offers a unique opportunity not only to see artistic works, but also to experience the creative environment where they are produced. Carabanchel, a working class neighborhood of Madrid known for its thriving artistic community, will present this edition with the participation of 18 studios and 50 artists.
As part of the art week, VILLAZAN will also be present, hosting its recently inaugurated exhibition featuring the photography of Ricky Powell and Paul Solberg, which can be visited until March 16.
